Our Story

Little Hearoes was born from a deeply personal journey.

I am a mother to a son, Tarek, who lost his hearing as a baby. At just three months old, Tarek contracted bacterial Neisseria meningitis. While he thankfully survived, subsequent tests revealed that he had lost hearing in his right ear and had mild to moderate hearing loss in his left.

Tarek began wearing a hearing aid and, for a time, he thrived. However, as his hearing continued to deteriorate, his loss became severe, and we were faced with the life-changing decision for him to receive a cochlear implant in his other ear.

Walking this path as a parent opened my eyes to the emotional, practical, and financial challenges that come with childhood hearing loss. Alongside the struggles, I also witnessed incredible resilience, courage, and triumph — not only in my own child, but in many others navigating the same journey.

It was through this experience that LittleHearoes came to life.

Driven by a desire to help families less fortunate than our own, I began speaking directly with ENT doctors and specialists to identify children and families in need of support for cochlear implants, hearing aids, and other hearing-related challenges.

Little Hearoes is an awareness and support platform. We do not accept donations or monetary contributions. Our purpose is to raise awareness, share knowledge, connect families with trusted medical professionals, and help parents navigate an often overwhelming journey — offering guidance, advocacy, and hope.

Through the many Little Hearoes we have supported along the way, we are continually reminded that even in the hardest moments, there is strength, resilience, and a future full of possibility.

FOR THE LITTLE HEAROES

Little Hearoes exists for the boys and girls navigating hearing loss, and for the families learning alongside them. Through shared experience and understanding, we hope to create a space where families can feel informed, supported, and less alone.
